Chicago, IL - October 05, 2006 - CEntrance, a leader in professional
audio technology, today announced availability of the CE1105 FireWire
Audio Solution, a compact hardware module, which instantly adds FireWire
connectivity to audio devices. The space-saving design features premium
quality analog I/O and is easy to integrate into a variety of products,
from mixers, to preamps, to signal processors. Custom product development
is the main business for CEntrance, which is offering the device components
and customized software, along with integration services, to help manufacturers
add audio connectivity to Windows or Macintosh computers.
The well-constructed design features a small footprint, for easy integration
into portable and rack-mount devices. The modular solution contains separate
analog and digital PCBs, stacked vertically to save space. For digital-only
applications, the analog PCB can be unplugged, exposing industry-standard
digital connections, for simple interfacing to existing converters or
DSPs. Measuring only 90x105x33mm, the CE1105 module features 20 I/O channels,
flexible power options, a variety of digital interfaces, such as I2S,
SPDIF, ADAT I/O, along with external clock I/O on BNC jacks, JET PLL synch
for lowest jitter, and premium converters for high quality, 24 bit / 192kHz
audio and MIDI.
The CE1105 solution is designed around the Dice II FireWire chip and premium
converters from Cirrus Logic, and offers flexible synchronization options,
highest audio quality, and MIDI capability. The CE1105 module was developed
for rapid deployment and comes bundled with CEntrance drivers, well known
for their exceptional stability, low-latency, and multi-device capability.
ASIO2, GSIF2, and WDM drivers are available for Windows platforms, and
Core Audio drivers are available for the Mac.
"FireWire is pure voodoo. It takes time to design a reliable, cross-platform
solution. CE1105 offers manufacturers an easy, cost-effective way to add
FireWire to their new or existing products," said Michael Goodman,
Managing Director of CEntrance. "Our experience in FireWire resulted
in this professional quality solution, which is attractively priced and
is now offered in volume quantities."
