CEntrance announces an immediate opening for an intern in the Testing
Department. We are looking for a motivated intern with a solid grasp of
audio fundamentals to help test and evaluate new audio products.
Job Function
The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of technical
terminology in software, hardware, home and studio recording and live
venue vernacular. He/she will have experience as a sound engineer at a
club or recording studio. He/she will demonstrate an excellent work ethic,
good written and oral communications skills, good people skills and ability
to work with others. Position will involve constant communication with
CEntrance staff and occasional communication with customers by phone or
email.
Duties
Follow set procedures to test analog, digital and software audio products.
Ensure that the products are bug-free and perform per specification. Measure
audio performance with oscilloscopes and similar tools. Maintain professional
notes on test results. Invent unconventional use cases to try and "break"
the product in order to find hidden bugs. Find ways to improve product
performance or features and report suggestions back to the team. This
person will be responsible for ensuring that the final product is bug-free.
Requirements
· BS degree or work towards a BS degree is required
· Previous work experience is preferred but not required
· Audio experience is necessary, music performance experience is
a plus
· Good understanding of audio products and their use
· Good written and oral communication skills
· Positive people skills
· Experience with writing/maintaining technical documentation
If the results from the internship period are successful, a permanent
job may be offered.
