On Friday, CEntrance announced that Michael Goodman, Managing Director,
narrowly escaped snakebite while on a recent business trip to China. The
incident occured when Michael traveled to the Far East to assist a client
in manufacturing a new product.
Traditional Chinese cuisine includes a variety of foods unfamiliar to
most members of the Western culture. Visitors are often surprised to find
unusual delicacieslike snake meat, for instanceon their plates
when invited to dinner by their generous hosts. At one such dinner, Michael
was startled to find himself suddenly face-to-face with the powerful predator.
It is a Chinese custom to share the food that is offered by the host.
Mr. Goodman, a former vegetarian, was forced to decide on the spot whether
to partake of the delicacy before passing the plate to his neighbor. There
was not a moment's hesitation. Without taking a bite, Michael offered
the plate to a colleague, who was clearly looking forward to indulging
in the culinary delight.
"In the global economy, the significance of China cannot be overestimated.
The audio industry is shifting production to the Pacific Rim, and CEntrance
is at the forefront of this transition," said Michael Goodman when
interviewed for this story. "Through our strong relationships with
manufacturers in the Far East, CEntrance helps ease the pain clients experience
when outsourcing globally. This is part of our continued commitment to
meeting our clients' needs."
