On Wednesday, CEntrance announced that Michael Goodman, Managing Director of CEntrance, will be speaking at the upcoming 2004 PDMA International Conference in October. The talk will be focused on issues of collaborative product development and will be based on Michael's experience in managing the extended team in a co-development environment.

"The key to project success is clear, proactive communication among the members of the extended team", noted Michael. "In a global environment, the project teams are routinely spread across several continents. CEntrance has developed a number of techniques to smooth out the communication process in a distributed team environment. We are proud to offer our experience to our clients, who need to save costs and reduce risk while ensuring project success".

Founded in 1976, PDMA is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization. About 80% of its members are corporate practitioners of new product development, with the remaining 20% split evenly between academics and service providers.

PDMA's mission is to improve the effectiveness of people engaged in developing and managing new products - both new manufactured goods and new services. This mission includes facilitating the generation of new information, helping convert this information into knowledge which is in a usable format, and making this new knowledge broadly available to those who might benefit from it. A basic tenet of the Association is that enhanced product innovation represents a desirable and necessary economic goal for firms that wish to achieve and retain a profitable competitive advantage in the long term.

CEntrance designs professional audio and consumer electronics products used in consumers' homes, radio stations, studios and any place where music is made or heard. By paying special attention to product definition, user interface and design, CEntrance develops products with a clear competitive edge. The company is headquartered in Chicago with offices in Mountain View and Madison.
